TravelFi Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 20, 2026
The short version: trips, expenses, budgets, exchange records, and rate checks stay on your device. TravelFi uses limited anonymous product analytics, fetches public exchange rates, and uses Apple and RevenueCat for optional Pro purchases.
Travel data
TravelFi does not transmit or remotely store the trips, expenses, budgets, commitments, exchange records, or rate checks you enter. There are no TravelFi accounts, sign-ups, bank connections, third-party advertising, or cross-app tracking.
Where your data lives
Everything you enter — trips, expenses, budgets, exchange records, rate checks — is stored in a local database on your device only. If you delete the app, that data is deleted with it. Exports you create (such as CSV files) go only where you choose to share them.
Anonymous product analytics
TravelFi sends limited product-usage events to PostHog so we can understand whether core features work and where people encounter problems. These events can include a randomly generated app-install identifier, event name, app version, build number, operating system, and limited categorical, count, or yes/no properties. They do not include trip names, notes, budgets, transaction amounts, exchange quotes, names, email addresses, advertising identifiers, payment credentials, or App Store receipts. TravelFi does not use session replay or automatic screen capture.
TravelFi does not send identity details or attempt to link these events to a real-world identity. PostHog may organize events under the random app-install identifier. Like any internet service, PostHog receives an IP address while handling the request; the TravelFi project is configured to discard it after short-lived processing such as GeoIP enrichment and bot detection. PostHog processes this information under its own privacy and security terms.
Exchange-rate requests
TravelFi fetches current currency exchange rates from a public rates service. The request does not contain the travel records you entered and is the same rates request for every user. The app works offline using cached rates when no connection is available. The rates service receives standard network information such as an IP address when handling the request.
Purchases
Optional TravelFi Pro purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. RevenueCat, our purchase-management provider, receives an anonymous app user ID, technical device information, App Store receipt, and purchase history to validate purchases, provide entitlement access, restore purchases, prevent fraud, and report subscription analytics. TravelFi does not send RevenueCat your trips, expenses, budgets, exchange records, rate checks, name, email address, bank information, or advertising identifier. We do not receive or store your payment-card details.
Retention and deletion
Your local travel data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall TravelFi. The anonymous analytics identifier remains on the device until the app is deleted. Apple, RevenueCat, PostHog, and the exchange-rate provider retain and delete information according to their own policies and legal obligations. You may contact us with a privacy request using the address below.
Security
TravelFi uses encrypted HTTPS connections for network requests and relies on iOS device protections for the local app database. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so keep your device passcode and iOS version up to date.
Informational estimates
TravelFi provides estimates and general budgeting information, not individualized financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Exchange rates, fees, and results can change. Confirm important decisions with your bank, card issuer, exchange provider, or other qualified professional.
Children
TravelFi is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date.
